About
Testimonials
Robin Lindsay MEP, NEMAA Faculty
"To anyone looking for an Emergency Management SME...David Heiden is the epitome of a Professional. Beyond his extensive background in the Science of Disasters - David has an uncanny ability to analyze and apply complex concepts in a user/audience appropriate delivery. David is a recent addition to the National Emergency Management Advanced Academy Instructor Cadre. I had the pleasure of onboarding and integrating David into the FEMA EMI cadre that I led. David had an immediate impact on the credibility and substance of the cohort! No matter the Unit of Study or Activity - David jumped in and added his knowledge, perspective and wisdom in such a way as to endear himself to both fellow instructors and students. There is no subject he will not tackle, no assignment he avoids. He embraces challenges, and is a role model for continued learning and growth. David leans forward into the future of Emergency Management and others follow."
Jordan Landers
"It was an absolute pleasure working with David on the Healthcare Coordination Team as part of DC’s response to COVID-19. He is an experienced planner and has great communication skills, which helped immensely in gathering areas for improvement from a healthcare coalition After Action Review and other planning efforts. David has a knack for articulating client needs and
outlining a way forward. I hope to work with David again in the future."
Steve Ward, PE, PMP, CEM
"I have had the opportunity to work closely with David in a number of different settings and opportunities. In each I was impressed with his depth of knowledge, willingness to innovate to maximize opportunities and his professionalism in difficult situations. As an emergency manager, he brings a depth of experience and technical knowledge that is unmatched. His reputation as an instructor and facilitator has been built on hard work and the ability to convey difficult topics to a diverse population. I have truly enjoyed working with David as a colleague and am always confident he will bring his A game to any situation."
Mark Rozelle
"I served on the leadership team with Dave as well as reported directly to him, acting as the mass care lead for our territory at The American Red Cross. I was impressed by how quickly Dave got up to speed and immersed himself in the organization and its culture, the community and clients we serve and engaging and mentoring our volunteer base. In addition to serving locally and in the region, Dave was quickly identified by Sr. management as having the leadership and skill set necessary to be deployed nationally for disaster relief operations, serving in Operations Management. Dave is highly respected in the field and an outstanding teacher and mentor. Along with many others, my emergency preparedness and response skill set was significantly enhanced under his leadership. It was a real privilege to work with him."
Brittany Dube MPH, CHES
"Having worked with Dave for several years, first as his student for the FEMA Basic Academy, and now as his supervisor at the City of Stamford through his part time role as our public health emergency preparedness planner, I can attest to his professionalism, expertise, and dedication to the field. He is easy to work with, thoughtful about his work, and excellent at what he does. I would recommend him for anyone looking for a dependable professional with expertise in emergency management, specifically relating to public health."
Oren Cohen
"David Heiden has extensive experience in Emergency Management planning and training, specifically within the field of healthcare. Working at the local, state and federal level Dave is an asset to every organization. I had the pleasure of working along side Dave when we were both deployed to Washington DC to assist with COVID-19 Surge planning. Dave and I developed and carried out an interim after-action report for the District's health response. Dave's knowledge and experience was critical to the success of our work, and we were able to deliver our client an extensive set of lessons learned for them to move forward. I wish I could work with him on all my future assignments!"
