Principal Consultant

David Heiden, MS, AEM® is a leader in emergency management and disaster response, and is a graduate of FEMA's National Emergency Management Basic Academy and the Advanced Academy. His experience encompasses federally declared disaster leadership positions, local and state level emergency activations, along with public health and pandemic response.
David has served in local and regional emergency planning and coordination roles, and on the Regional Emergency Planning Team (REPT) in Region 1 of Connecticut. He is the Training Coordinator for the CT-West Incident Management Team where he trains and deploys for emergency and disaster response. David is a member of the Southbury Volunteer Fire Department and also volunteers on a CERT team as their Training Officer and as a Deployment Captain for planned and unplanned events.
David has over twenty-five years of experience as a trainer and educator. He teaches courses for FEMA's National Emergency Management Basic Academy and the Advanced Academy, has developed curriculum and course content for in-person and virtual deliveries for FEMA and other organizations, and he frequently presents preparedness and disaster programs to the public.
